It was reported on Tuesday night that the twelve-year-old kid, known as David Kingsley, had shot and killed his six-year-old brother, Solomon Kingsley.
The incident happened at the family’s compound in Jalingo City’s Nukkai neighbourhood.
Journalists attempting to contact the children’s father were unsuccessful since he refused to comment on the event.
The man claimed that his inability to talk is due to his loss.
Upon reaching out to our correspondent, Kwache Gambo, the Acting Police Public Relations Officer of the Taraba Command, begged for patience.
As of the time this report was filed, the Command had not yet released a statement regarding the occurrence.
According to locals who spoke with our reporter, when they heard the gunshot, they all fled, believing that the region had been invaded by bandits or kidnappers. Although the residents verified that David had accidentally shot and killed his younger brother, they were unable to determine where the gun came from because the children’s father was not a security official.
Just over a month has passed since three children in Taraba State’s Didango Geita village in Karim-Lamido local government council perished as a result of an unintentional discharge from a dane gun that they were allegedly playing with.
