As part of its Project 111 Fibroid Awareness Campaign, Access Bank’s Retail Banking Team will provide free fibroid surgery to 100 women across Nigeria. The initiative aims to raise awareness and support for women affected by fibroids, a condition that affects 70-80% of women but has a low awareness rate.
The campaign, which runs throughout July, will begin with a webinar to create awareness among women. The bank’s dedicated team will also provide free diagnostic tests to 500 women and surgeries to 100 women in need. The initiative has already impacted over 16,000 lives since its launch in 2022.
Access Bank’s Deputy Managing Director of Retail, Chizoma Okoli, emphasized the bank’s commitment to supporting women’s health and well-being. Group Head, Consumer Banking, Njideka Esomeju, added that the campaign will include free fibroid screenings, community health talks, and a webinar to address women’s health issues.
One beneficiary of the initiative, Hannatu Botsha, shared her testimony, expressing gratitude for the free surgery she received through the program. The bank’s efforts aim to make a positive impact on women’s lives and promote awareness about fibroids and their treatment.
