The meeting, chaired by the Minister of Education, Prof Tahir Mamman, will discuss the results of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) released on April 29, 2024. During the meeting, the Registrar will present reports on the UTME results and ongoing Direct Entry applications, analyzing key performance indicators that may shape government policy directions on admission. The meeting will also address issues from previous admission exercises and determine the minimum admissible score for the current year.
This meeting will set the admission requirements for universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education, kick-starting the admission process for the current year. Stakeholders have agreed on minimum admission requirements in previous years, and this meeting will determine the benchmarks for the upcoming academic session.
