Governor Charles Soludo has pledged to focus on enhanced security and accelerated development for Anambra State in 2025.
In his New Year message on Wednesday, the governor expressed optimism about the opportunities the year brings, especially with the recent signing of the N607 billion 2025 appropriation bill into law.
“This budget marks a significant milestone in our journey toward building a prosperous and smart mega-state. It reflects our commitment to infrastructure development, economic transformation, and human capital growth,” he said. Key allocations will target education, healthcare, road construction, and other critical sectors.
As part of efforts to bolster security, Governor Soludo announced the launch of ‘Operation Udo Ga Chi’ (Operation Peace Shall Reign) on January 25. The initiative will deploy over 200 security vehicles for enhanced surveillance and stop-and-search operations. Additionally, forest security will be strengthened through specialized training of forest guards in collaboration with local vigilantes and authorities.
He also extended an olive branch to repentant criminals, offering them amnesty until the end of February to promote peace and reconciliation.
The governor urged political stakeholders to ensure peace and decorum as the state enters an election year, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts for a prosperous future.
“I remain committed to fulfilling the promises of the 2025 budget and pray the New Year brings peace, progress, and prosperity to all residents,” he concluded.
