The All Progressives Congress (APC) has responded to criticism from opposition parties over President Bola Tinubu’s recent cabinet reshuffle. APC’s National Publicity Director, Bala Ibrahim, said the opposition’s negative reactions stem from frustration over being snubbed for appointments.
Tinubu’s cabinet reshuffle included dismissing five ministers, appointing seven, and reassigning 10 others. Opposition parties described the move as a distraction from the administration’s inadequacy and incompetence.
However, Bala Ibrahim argued that the changes were necessary to reduce duplication of responsibilities and cut the cost of governance. He praised Tinubu for having the courage to make tough decisions, emphasizing that cabinet reshuffles are normal in any administration.
Opposition parties, including the Peoples Democratic Party, Social Democratic Party, and Labour Party, expressed disappointment with the reshuffle, calling it a waste of time and resources.
