The All Progressives Congress (APC) is likely to postpone its National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting until 2025, due to President Bola Tinubu’s unavailability and busy schedule. Initially scheduled for September 11 and 12, the meeting was indefinitely postponed, with no new date announced.
According to sources within the APC Secretariat, President Tinubu’s absence from the country was the primary reason for the postponement. With only two months left in the year and the festive period approaching, holding the meeting in 2024 is no longer feasible.
The APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, confirmed that a new date would be announced later, but the party’s National Deputy Organising Secretary, Nze Chidi Duru, and National Legal Adviser, Abdulkareem Kana, stated that no new date has been fixed.
The postponement has sparked concerns, particularly after the APC’s previous indefinite postponement of its National Caucus and NEC meetings. The party’s leadership is awaiting President Tinubu’s return to the country to determine the next course of action.
