Former Nigerian envoy, Bianca Ojukwu, recently embarked on a diplomatic visit to the esteemed Emir of Kano, Aminu Bayero, at his regal palace.
This visit coincided with the inaugural flight of United Nigeria Airlines to Kano, marking a significant milestone for air travel in the region.
Bianca Ojukwu, in a Facebook post on Sunday, shared glimpses of the memorable experience, expressing, “A royal visit to Kano… It was an amazing experience of grandeur and splendor when we were received and lavishly hosted by His Royal Highness, Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero at the royal palace as United Airlines launched its maiden flight to Kano.”
During the visit, Emir Bayero extended his support to United Nigeria Airlines and advocated for flight connections between Kano, with its substantial Igbo population, and the South East states. He emphasized the enduring relationship between Kano and the South East, stating that an open route would not only foster economic development in the region but also benefit Kano.
In response to the Emir’s request, Prof. Obiora Okonkwo, Chairman of United Nigeria Airlines, reassured him that flights from Kano to the South East states would commence before the Christmas season, providing travelers with faster and more convenient options.
This visit stands as a symbol of collaboration and mutual support between regions, paving the way for increased connectivity and economic growth.
