The Carabao Cup will undergo significant changes starting next season. A new seeding system will be introduced to separate top clubs competing in European tournaments during the early rounds.
This means fewer high-profile matches in the initial stages. Additionally, the third round will be spread over two weeks to alleviate fixture congestion.
These changes come in response to recent modifications to the FA Cup and Champions League, which now feature an extended group stage with each team playing two extra matches, and fixtures running until January instead of December.
