Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, has launched the resettlement of internally displaced persons (IDPs) in nine local government areas, with a total of 12,985 individuals set to benefit.
The exercise, which began with the resettlement of IDPs in six LGAs, including Bama, Konduga, Gwoza, Kukawa, Jere, and Ngala, saw each male head of household receive N100,000, while female heads of household received the same amount.
Additionally, 6,875 married women received N50,000 each, along with food items and utensils.
The food items were donated by the federal government through the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
Governor Zulum commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Vice President’s office, and NEMA for their support.
However, he expressed concern over criminal activities, including prostitution and theft, in the Muna IDP camp, vowing to address the issues.
