The Nigerian government has received 400 deportees from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), comprising 90 females and 310 males.
According to the Nigerian Television Authority, NTA the deportees arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on Friday at 7:00 pm through the pilgrims’ wing of the airport.
Federal Government officials, led by personnel from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), received the deportees alongside other stakeholders, including the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons, and the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).
Meanwhile, recall that on Monday, November 13, 2023, 264 Nigerian passengers were notified that their visas had been cancelled upon arrival at the King Abdulaziz International Airport – Hajj Terminal in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, this development accounts for the deportation of Nigerians in September 2024.
