Chiamaka Nnadozie has achieved a remarkable milestone, becoming the first African and Nigerian to receive the National Union of Professional Footballers (UNFP) award for Best Goalkeeper in the French women’s league.
Nnadozie’s outstanding performances for Paris FC in the 2023/24 season earned her this prestigious recognition. She outshone a talented group of goalkeepers, including Christiane Endler of Olympic Lyon, Katarzyna Kiedrzynek of Paris SG, Chloe N’Gazi of FC Fleury, and Kinga Szemik of Stade de Reims.
The 23-year-old Nigerian international has already been named the best goalkeeper in the French D1 Arkema (women’s league) last month. Her exceptional penalty-saving skills have solidified her position as one of the world’s top goalkeepers. This season, she saved an impressive seven penalties, the highest number achieved by any European goalkeeper.
Nnadozie’s achievements have etched her name in history, inspiring future generations of African and Nigerian goalkeepers. Her dedication and talent have made her a standout player in the French women’s league, and her accolades are a testament to her hard work and excellence.
