The Chairman of Ekiti State Universal Basic Education Board, Femi Akinwumi, has warned contractors that violating contract agreements will result in blacklisting and refunding of paid amounts. Akinwumi emphasized that Ekiti SUBEB will not tolerate substandard jobs or delays in project execution.
During the bid opening ceremony for the 2023 Universal Basic Education Commission/ SUBEB Intervention Projects, Akinwumi stated that the board will ensure strict compliance with UBEC/SUBEB guidelines and state procurement law in awarding contracts. Contractors with a history of abandoned projects, invalid tax clearance, low financial capability, or doubtful records will not be considered for awards.
Akinwumi assured contractors of a level playing ground but warned against violating contract agreements, stating that failure to work according to specifications will result in blacklisting and refunding of collected money. The state government has committed to paying contractors in full after successful completion of contracts, and Akinwumi urged contractors to deliver jobs on time.
The 2023 UBEC/SUBEB intervention projects include constructing classroom blocks, water system toilets, procuring furniture, and perimeter fencing of school premises.
