Controversy Trails AMVCA as “A Tribe Called Judah” Fails to Win Any Award.

Reactions continue to pour in following the 10th Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) held at Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos on Saturday.

The notable snub of Funke Akindele’s record-breaking film, ‘A Tribe Called Judah’, has emerged as the most talked-about aspect of the event.

‘Breath Of Life’ was the biggest winner of the night, taking home six awards, including Best Movie, Best Sound Design, Best Director (BB Sasore), Best Lead Actor (Wale Ojo), Best Supporting Actor (Ademola Adedoyin), Best Supporting Actress (Genoveva Umeh), and Trailblazer (Chimezie Imo).

Meanwhile, ‘A Tribe Called Judah’, despite becoming the first Nigerian movie to gross over N1 billion in cinemas last December, lost all five nominations.

As expected, the snub of Nigeria’s highest-grossing film has sparked a social media frenzy, with many expressing their surprise and disappointment at the outcome.
