Davido shakes off Grammy defeat, congratulates Tyla on victory5th February 2024
Nigerian afrobeat singer , David Adeleke, also known as Davido has congratulated his South African female counterpart, Tyla, for emerging victorious in the inaugural Best African Music Performance category at the 66th Grammy Awards ceremony.
Tyla’s song, ‘Water’ came top against ‘Amapiano’ by Asake and Olamide; ‘City Boys’ by Burna Boy. ‘Unavailable’ by Davido featuring Musa Keys; and ‘Rush’ by Ayra Starr.
The ‘Unavailable’ crooner took to his X handle early Monday to express his joy, despite losing out on all three nominations.
