Edo 2024: Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu Announces Bid for Governorship
Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, a former Secretary to the State Government of Edo State, has officially declared his candidacy for the 2024 governorship race in the state. Making the announcement on Wednesday, Ize-Iyamu revealed his decision to run under the All Progressives Congress (APC) banner.
This marks the third attempt by Ize-Iyamu to secure the Edo governorship office. In the 2020 elections, he contested on the APC platform but faced defeat against Governor Godwin Obaseki, who ran under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Undeterred by the previous setback, Ize-Iyamu expressed his commitment to the principles outlined in his SIMPLE agenda. The agenda encompasses Security, Infrastructure Development, Manpower Development, Public/Private Partnership, Leadership by Example, and Employment Creation.During his declaration speech, Ize-Iyamu emphasized his experience, having served as the Secretary to the State Government and as a previous governorship candidate of the party.
