The Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo is set to host a thrilling encounter between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier tonight.
The Akwa Ibom Government has generously offered to cover the cost of tickets for fans, allowing them to access the popular side for free.
The match, scheduled to kick off at 8pm Nigerian time, is crucial for the Super Eagles, who need a win to revive their World Cup qualifying campaign after drawing their first two matches. The team was held to a 1-1 draw by Lesotho in their last outing in Uyo.
The Nigeria Football Federation had earlier announced ticket prices for the game, with regular tickets selling for N1,000 and VIP tickets costing N3,000.
However, the government’s decision to cover the cost of tickets is a welcome gesture that will allow more fans to support the Super Eagles in this important match.
