Barr. Dr. Emeka Emekesiri has advised Mr. Peter Obi to withdraw from the Nigerian Politics and return home to lead his people at the USSEN if the ADC denies him the Presidential Ticket. This advice was contained in his address to the Igbo people who gathered at his office to ask for the way forward in their struggle for emancipation or self-determination.
In his statement, Emekesiri averred as follows: Mr Peter Obi means well for all Nigerians irrespective of tribe or religion, but the owners of Nigeria do not want him to become the Executive President of Nigeria because he is an Igbo man. Let us say the truth and call a spade a spade. We believe that he won the Presidential Election in 2023, but the owners of Nigeria placed Bola Ahmed Tinubu in power and forced an unqualified person on us instead of Peter Obi. Everybody is suffering today in Nigeria because of this evil.
The political enemies caused intractable confusions in the Labour Party and forced Peter Obi to leave the Party and join the Coalition that became known as ADC (African Democratic Congress). All of us who are called the Obidients moved with him to the ADC. As far as we are concerned, we are not interested in the dirty and tribalistic politics of Nigeria but in the candidate who has the capacity to save Nigeria. Wherever Peter Obi goes, we shall go with him. We know that the person who can save Nigeria is Peter Obi. His political enemies also know it, but they do not want it to happen.
The political enemies have re-strategized. They are the expired politicians recycling corruption and wickedness in Nigeria. They want their political heavyweights to defect from the ruling APC party to ADC. They are the same old and expired politicians decamping from one Party to the other. The ADC has not accepted Peter Obi as the consensus candidate but declared that the Primary Election to elect the Presidential Candidate shall be thrown open to all and sundry. Thus, the political hawks and harlots have geared up to frustrate Peter Obi’s chances of being elected as the Presidential flagbearer for ADC.
The purpose is to create further confusion in the ADC and make it impossible for Peter Obi to emerge as the Presidential Candidate of the ADC and weaken President Bola Tibunbu’s political strenght. Therefore, it will not be a surprise that very soon, we shall begin to hear news about powerful politicians joining the ADC to whittle down the influence of Peter Obi in the Party. At the end of it all, Peter Obi may be denied the Ticket to run for the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
In my opinion, a New Nigeria is not POssible because Nigeria is irredeemable unless the whole country unanimously elects or appoints Peter Obi as the President of Nigeria by consensus. If Peter Obi is not given the ticket to run for the President of Nigeria, he is advised to withdraw from Nigerian politics and return home and lead his people at the USSEN.
Have you heard about USSEN? It is the Union of States of South-Eastern Nigeria, a body created in 2008 by the Vision Bearer and proposed to the Governors of Igboland under the chairmanship of His Excellency, Chief Ikedi Ohakim, to implement but it was kept in the cooler. It was designed as a Union of the States of the East under the Nigerian Constitution just like the ECOWAS or the EU which would merge the political economies of the Igbo States to one geopolitical economy of Igboland in the arts and science of geopolitics and diplomacy. USSEN will turn the whole Igboland into a “JAPAN” or “DUBAI” in Africa.
USSEN was proposed in 2008 when Governor Ikedi Ohakim of Imo State was the Chairman of the South-East Governors Forum. The Governors of Igboland did not implement the Proposal but continued to hope that Nigeria would be reasonable to accept Igbo People as equal partners in the Nigeria Project without discrimination, but we have seen that it is not possible for an Igbo man to rule as the Executive President of Nigeria no matter how intelligent or capable.
If they deny Peter Obi the Presidential Ticket of ADC, he should come back home and lead his people at the USSEN and let us make Igboland another JAPAN or DUBAI in Africa. USSEN is an Economic Union of States just like the ECOWAS or the EU or AU. It is not secession. We are still Nigerians but developing our own Region without hindrances or limitations from the Nigerian Government.
