Nigerian rapper Falz has expressed his support for the ongoing labour strike, despite facing personal challenges due to the industrial action.
The strike, led by the Nigeria Labour Congress and Trade Union Congress, has grounded flights and affected businesses, including Falz’s own schedule.
The artist was stranded in Uyo after his flight to Lagos was cancelled, and he also lost money invested in a video shoot that he couldn’t attend.
However, Falz understands the reasons behind the strike and backs the labour unions’ demands for a new minimum wage and reevaluation of electricity prices. In a video message, he stated, “I’m with the labour…this strike is long overdue.”
