I STILL HARBOUR ANIMOSITY TOWARDS ARSENAL’, ROBINSON TALKS ABOUT HIS PERSONAL VENDETTA AGAINST THIERRY HENRY

PAUL ROBINSON

Paul Robinson, a former custodian for Tottenham Hotspur, has acknowledged that he still harbours animosity towards Arsenal, a Premier League team. As he discussed his “personal vendetta” against former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry, Robinson made this statement. His admissions occurred during his discussion of the North London Derby, particularly the most recent match at Highbury, which resulted in a 1-1 tie, on Tottenham’s official podcast.

“There was a show there. Though I still believe we had a problem with Arsenal at the time, there was a sense of unity and something about that performance. Robinson remarked, “We were beneath them” (via TBR Football). As painful as it is for me to admit, and I take immense joy in myself every time someone defeats Arsenal, he continued, “the underlying thing is one because I had a personal vendetta with Thierry Henry.” Even at Leeds, it was always Thierry four whenever he played.

“I recall him playing at Leeds. After 20 minutes, I looked up to see that the score was 4-0 and he had already scored three goals.” I believe it was the beginning of it for me since I’ve always found Arsenal to be a scary team. Of course, when he played for Tottenham, animosity grew and persists to this day.

In September of this year, Arsenal and Tottenham drew 2-2 in their Premier League derby at Emirates Stadium. One point ahead of Tottenham in fourth place, the Gunners occupy third place on the Premier League standings.
