Igbo Clerics Accuse South-East Governors of Conspiracy in Nnamdi Kanu’s Detention.

An inter-religious group, Concerned Igbo Ministers Commission, has condemned the continued detention of IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu, calling it a “demonic scheme” against the Igbo people.

The group, led by Rev. Tony Uzo Anthony and Apostle Tony Osuji, accused South-East governors of conspiring to keep Kanu in prison for political reasons. They claim that the governors plan to release Kanu next year to help President Bola Ahmed Tinubu win votes in the South-East and South-South states.

The clerics pointed out that the presiding judge has refused to obey a Supreme Court decision on the matter, despite acknowledging that the charges against Kanu are politically motivated and baseless.

They urged the international community, traditional rulers, and religious leaders to condemn this alleged conspiracy and pressure the authorities to release Kanu, who they believe has done nothing wrong.

The group warned that those involved in Kanu’s detention will be held liable for any consequences that may arise.
