The Kano State Government has distributed 88 motorcycles and five operational vehicles to support the movement of front-line health workers in the implementation of various health programs in the state. The distribution ceremony took place at the Government House in Kano.
The vehicles and motorcycles are intended to facilitate the transportation of program commodities and ensure effective coordination and supervision of healthcare services.
The support is provided by the Global Fund to Supervisors and their Assistants to help in the identification of Tuberculosis, Leprosy, Malaria, and HIV.
Additionally, two operational vehicles were presented for the operations of Immunization Plus, a high-impact project aimed at transforming the primary healthcare system in Nigeria.
The project seeks to improve routine immunization, skilled birth delivery, and reduce under-five mortality, among other health objectives.
Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Yusuf, emphasized the need for proper use of the vehicles and motorcycles to achieve the desired goal and promote healthcare services delivery in the state.
