Chelsea FC has announced that manager Mauricio Pochettino has left the club by mutual consent. Pochettino joined the Blues last summer, signing a two-year contract, but has departed after just one season.
Despite a strong finish to the campaign, which saw the team secure a sixth-place finish, Pochettino’s tenure was marked by reported disagreements with the club’s owners, Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital.
Pochettino’s departure marks the sixth permanent managerial change at Chelsea in just five years, following the exits of Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter, and Frank Lampard, who took temporary charge last season.
The Argentine manager, who previously led Tottenham Hotspur and Paris Saint-Germain, will now seek a new challenge, while Chelsea begins its search for a new manager to lead the team forward.
