Brigadier General Ajose has taken over as the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Nigerian Army’s 8 Division, succeeding Major General Godwin Mutkut. The handover ceremony took place in Sokoto, where Mutkut was posted to the Nigerian Army Heritage and Future Centre as Director, Military Technology.
During the ceremony, Mutkut expressed appreciation for the cooperation and support of the division’s officers and soldiers during his tenure. He charged them to remain committed and disciplined, confident that Ajose would advance the division’s achievements.
Ajose commended Mutkut’s successful record and sought his continued guidance. He assured the officers and soldiers of his readiness to work towards lasting peace and stability in the division’s area of responsibility. Ajose pledged to build on his predecessor’s achievements, ensuring dedication and focus towards achieving the Nigerian Army’s mandate.
The new GOC emphasized the importance of synergy with other services and security agencies, aligning with the Chief of Army Staff’s philosophy to enhance national security. He urged officers and soldiers to remain loyal to constituted authority and protect lives and property.
