COMRADE JOE AJAERO
The brutalised President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Comrade Joe Ajaero, has been brought to the FederalMedical Centre Owerri, FMC, with his rightshutting its eye entirelyComrade Benson Upah, Head of the NLC’sPublicity and Information explained whatAjaero perceived it as an abduction thatturned into an attempt at homicide.
“Congress President, Comrade Joe Ajaero, has been contacted this evening at 15:30 hours from the Owerri Police Hospital, where he was transported to Federal Medical Centre Owerri where he is being treated medically.
“His right eye was totally closed at the moment of contact due to severe brutalization.”He went on, “Ajaero, who didn’t say much,” declared that as soon as he was arrested, he was seized, blindfolded, and beaten up to an unidentified location where additional brutality occurred, perhaps accompanied with bottles.They took his phones, cash, and other personal belongings, and they haven’t given them back.
