Nigerian striker Jude Odion Ighalo has fondly reminisced about his time at Manchester United, describing it as the pinnacle of his career. In an interview with Oma Sports TV, Ighalo expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to play for his childhood club, saying, “Playing at Old Trafford was a dream come true.”
Ighalo, now playing for Al-Wehda, credited divine intervention for his unexpected transfer to Manchester United in 2020. Despite being 30 years old and playing in China for three years, he defied the odds to join the Premier League giants on loan.
The experienced forward acknowledged the significance of his achievement, stating, “I’m happy being the first and only Nigerian to play for Manchester United.” Ighalo’s loan spell at Manchester United lasted from January 2020 to January 2021, a period he cherishes as the highlight of his career.
