French Ligue 1 side Olympic Lyon are reportedly interested in signing Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi. According to Foot Mercato, Lyon aim to bolster their midfield ahead of the upcoming season and have identified Ndidi as a prime target.
This is not Lyon’s first attempt to sign Ndidi, as they previously tried to secure a loan deal with Leicester City last summer, which was ultimately rejected. With Ndidi’s contract set to expire at the end of June, his future remains uncertain. While he may opt to remain in England, potentially signing a new deal with Leicester City, Lyon’s interest presents an attractive alternative.
Ndidi played a pivotal role in Leicester City’s promotion to the Premier League, contributing nine goal involvements in 32 matches. His defensive midfield skills would undoubtedly strengthen Lyon’s squad.
