Adams Oshiomhole, former Governor of Edo State, has criticized the state’s First Lady, Betsy Obaseki, for her comment on the marital status of the governorship candidates. During the PDP’s campaign flag-off, Mrs. Obaseki emphasized the importance of having a woman in the Government House and introduced the wife of the PDP candidate, Asue Ighodalo.
Oshiomhole faulted the First Lady’s comment, stating that the APC candidate, Monday Okpebholo, has children and has invested in their education. He added that Okpebholo’s children, including a lawyer and a medical doctor, have been part of recent campaigns, and their mother has also been present.
Oshiomhole’s response highlights the exchange between the two political leaders, with Obaseki’s comment being seen as an attempt to emphasize the importance of having a woman in the Government House, while Oshiomhole’s response focuses on the APC candidate’s family and educational investments.
