Osun State Governor disobeys court order to replace Chief Judge
Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, on Thursday, went against a court order from the National Industrial Court that barred him from suspending the Osun State Chief Judge, Oyebola Ojo.
The governor had initially endorsed the State Assembly’s resolution recommending Ojo’s suspension.Despite the court instructing the governor to ensure the security of Justice Ojo and refrain from removing her, Governor Adeleke, in a statement by his spokesperson Olawale Rasheed, announced the appointment of Justice Olayinka David Afolabi as the Acting Chief Judge.
This decision, according to the statement, aligns with the State House of Assembly’s resolution, and the swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for tomorrow at the Governor’s Office in Osogbo.Credit: @SaharaReporters
