The Oyo State government has prohibited teachers’ meetings during school hours, effective immediately.
According to Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, Chairman of the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, this directive aims to ensure strict adherence to the unified school timetable in all public schools.
Adeniran warned head teachers and teachers to refrain from holding meetings during school hours, stating that non-compliance would result in severe consequences.
He also appealed to education unions and associations to cooperate with this policy.
Additionally, Adeniran highlighted the state’s commitment to leveraging technology to improve the education system, citing the BESDA Attendance Monitoring Information System as a key tool.
