Primeboy Files Lawsuit Against Nigeria Police Force Over Wanted Declaration

Ibrahim Owodunni, popularly known as Primeboy and childhood friend of late singer Mohbad, has taken legal action against the Nigeria Police Force for allegedly violating his fundamental human rights.

The lawsuit, filed at the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, on October 11, 2024, seeks a court order to remove Primeboy’s name from the wanted list. His lawyer, Akinpelu Ogunbona, claims that the special police bulletin declaring Primeboy wanted contravenes his right to dignity and respect as a human being.

The Lagos State Police Command had declared Primeboy wanted on October 4, 2023, after he failed to honor an invitation related to Mohbad’s tragic death. However, Primeboy surrendered himself to the police the following day.

Primeboy’s prayers to the court include a declaration that the special police gazette bulletin issued by the office of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) was a contravention of his rights. He also seeks to delist his name from the wanted list, among other prayers.
