The All Progressives Congress (APC) has formed a 305-member campaign council to drive its campaign for the upcoming Ondo State governorship election, with Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, as chairman.
The election is scheduled to take place on November 16. Sanwo-Olu will leverage his leadership experience in Lagos to guide the campaign’s activities and winning strategies.
The APC’s National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Argungu, disclosed the formation of the council in a statement on Thursday. According to Argungu, the council’s inauguration will take place at the International Event Centre (The Dome) in Akure, Ondo State, on October 28.
Sanwo-Olu will be supported by prominent APC figures, including Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, who serves as secretary, Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris, Governor Dapo Abiodun, and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume.
Other notable members of the council include Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Kwara Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, and Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum. Former officials, such as Chief Olusola Oke, Senator Stella Oduah, Senator Uche Ekwunife, and General Abdulrahman Dambazau (Rtd), will also play crucial roles in various campaign operations.
The APC’s National Working Committee, led by Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, approved the composition of the Ondo State National Gubernatorial Campaign Council.
