
According to The Sun, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Privatization and Commercialization, has once again been praised for his impactful contributions to the Abia North Senatorial District. Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Uchendu, former Deputy Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly and a key APC stakeholder, commended the senator for his dedication to development in the region since assuming office in 2019.
In a video shared on Senator Kalu’s official social media platform on January 23, 2024, Uchendu expressed gratitude for the numerous projects initiated by Kalu, including the construction of the Ndi Orieke road. He described the senator’s efforts as exceptional and prayed for continued blessings upon him.
Uchendu pledged to mobilize strong support for Kalu’s re-election bid in 2027, affirming the people’s satisfaction with his leadership. He also appealed to the senator to address the ongoing electricity challenges in Ohafia, which he described as a persistent problem despite efforts by local leaders, including himself, to resolve it. Uchendu expressed confidence that Senator Kalu’s intervention would bring a solution.
Notably, Senator Kalu has been recognized as the “Best Performing Senator” for three consecutive years by the National Assembly Press Corps. His achievements include awarding thousands of scholarships, constructing over 100 roads, building 80 schools, and establishing 30 health centers in Abia North. Additionally, he has distributed farming equipment, school materials, and other resources to empower constituents.
Highlighting Kalu’s consistent advocacy for youth engagement in large-scale agriculture, Uchendu praised the senator’s initiatives and assured him of unwavering support for future political endeavors. He concluded by reiterating his appeal for the restoration of electricity in Ohafia, expressing hope that Senator Kalu would intervene.
