The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has awarded South Africa the hosting rights for the Africa U-20 Cup of Nations in January 2025. This will be South Africa’s second time hosting the competition, having previously done so 13 years ago when Nigeria emerged victorious, defeating Senegal in the final.
Nigeria’s Flying Eagles will need to qualify through the WAFU B tournament in Togo next month to secure their spot in the 2025 competition. Last year, the Flying Eagles finished third at the U20 AFCON in Egypt.
