SUPREME COURT AFFIRMS ABURE’S LEADERSHIP

Supreme Court affirms Abure’s Leadership The Supreme Court of Nigeria today rejected an appeal by Basil Maduka against the Labour Party regarding the Imo state governorship election candidate. A panel of five justices, led by Iyang Okoro, also criticized the Appellant for abusing the court process.

Additionally, the request by Joseph Ukaegbu, alias Ikenga, for a consequential order was denied. This judgment marks the end of Lamidi Apapa’s attempt to control the Labour Party and candidate nominations.

Counsel to the Labour Party, Barrister Okwudili Anozie, stated that this was the culmination of deceit and lies by Basil Maduka and Joseph Ukaegbu, exposing their misrepresentations and subterfuge.

The Supreme Court’s decision is seen as a day of reckoning for those attempting to obstruct Imo state’s aspirations through Senator Athan Nneji Achonu.
