President Bola Tinubu stumbled and fell on Wednesday while trying to board the parade vehicle during the Democracy Day festivities at the Eagle Square in Abuja.
Video footage of the incident quickly circulated on social media, sparking concern among viewers.
The President had approached the vehicle shortly after his arrival at the Eagle Square venue for the June 12 commemoration.
Reports indicate that Tinubu briefly lost his balance as he attempted to embark on the parade vehicle.
The president had worn a white native attire popularly known as agbada and his signature cap.
He struggled to save himself by holding on to the vehicle, but landed on the ground while his aides rushed to support him back to his feet, however, he has since resumed his duties at the ongoing ceremony.
The occurrence was part of a series of events marking the nation’s Democracy Day celebrations at the Eagle Square.
