World record holder Tobi Amusan claimed her fourth national title in the women’s 100m hurdles at the national trials in Benin City, crossing the finish line in 12.78 seconds. Adaobi Tabugbo trailed behind, securing second place with a time of 13.33 seconds, while Faith Osamuyi took third in 13.36 seconds.
The 27-year-old champion, fondly known as “Tobi Express,” is now setting her sights on a podium finish at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Amusan narrowly missed a medal in Tokyo four years ago, finishing fourth in the final. She will also represent Nigeria at the African Senior Athletics Championship in Cameroon later this month, aiming to continue her impressive form.
