The e-commerce industry is in shock as former Konga CEO Nick Imudia is reportedly dead by suicide.
According to reports, Imudia jumped from the balcony of his apartment in Lekki, Lagos, on Tuesday evening.
Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident but did not provide further details. Friends, family, and associates of Imudia are in shock, as there was no indication that he was struggling with personal issues.
Before his death, Imudia made a call to his brother in the United States, instructing him on how to distribute his wealth. He also spoke to his young daughter, reassuring her that he would always be there for her. These conversations have left loved ones grappling with the sudden loss.
Imudia’s professional background was marked by notable stints with TCL/Alcatel and Microsoft Device and Services, where he served as regional director and GM/MD for West and Central Africa, respectively.
His leadership at Konga had a significant impact on the e-commerce landscape in Nigeria. His death has left a void in the industry and a legacy that will be remembered.
