Troops Neutralize Bandits in Kaduna StateBandits and terrorists in the Birnin Gwari forest faced heavy casualties on November 16, 2023, during a decisive offensive by the troops of 1 Division Nigerian Army and Operation Whirl Punch.
Acting on credible intelligence, motivated troops conducted a clearance operation in bandits’ strongholds like Sabon-Birni, Dogon Dawa, Saulawa, Maidaro-Ngede Allah, and Kidenda in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State, engaging with the bandits.
In the ensuing firefight, troops neutralized six bandits and seized two AK-47 rifles, four AK-47 rifle magazines, 14 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, 40 pairs of bandit uniforms, and nine motorcycles.Major General Valentine Okoro, the General Officer Commanding 1 Division Nigerian Army and Force Commander of Operation WHIRL PUNCH, commended the troops for their gallantry.
