Two soldiers have been reportedly killed by unidentified gunmen enforcing the sit-at-home directive on Thursday.
The military personnel were attacked at Obikabia junction in Aba, Abia State, by over 15 masked gunmen who also torched their patrol vehicle.
A trending video shows the assailants firing indiscriminately before setting the military van ablaze.
It was reported that a soldier later emerged, with a voice accompanying the video lamenting that “it seems he is the only one that survived; others have been killed.”
The gunmen were operating with an SUV jeep and a Sienna.
The Abia State Police Command and the Military have not commented on the reported incident as of the time of filing this report.
