We can compete without being negatively competitive -Toyin Abraham says in a recent appreciation post for actress Funke Akindele.
The Nollywood actress, Toyin Abraham, has taken to her social media pages to express appreciation for her colleague, Funke Akindele, calling an end to industry rivalry.
She also attributed various controversies and fierce competition in the movie industry to gossips among the people of the industry. In her words, those gossips tear down the industry and create enmity and rivalry. She noted that this is destructive and creates room for unhealthy competition.
“The number one cause of fights in the industry then was ‘he said, she said’ before the social media era. Dear Nollywood people, let me chip this in, stop tearing the industry down with your gossips. You have caused lots of damage with ‘he-said, she-said’.” She wrote.
Moving on, she recognized actress Funke Akindele’s achievement in the industry and called her a winner, with a focus on her recent achievement of making over a billion naira in her movie, ‘a tribe of Judah’. This feat, she noted, has challenged her to set higher goals and taught women to hustle harder.
She concludes her message by acknowledging the competition and declaring her support for her colleague even in this.
“Sis, let’s compliment each other even in competition at the box office, I owe you one post in December (only 1 o, I need to sell market…Lol). I pray that God will make all your dreams come true. I admire you and wish you all the best.”
Meanwhile, in response to this, Funke Akindele replied, “Toyin baby ❤❤ all the best dear.”
