Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi has fled Nigeria, claiming his life is under threat due to his involvement in seeking justice for late singer Mohbad. Fabiyi had scheduled a protest on September 30 to coincide with the coroner’s investigation into Mohbad’s death.
However, he revealed in a video on his Instagram page that he escaped an assassination attempt two days prior and feared for his life. “I escaped assassination two days ago and they still planned to kill me tonight,” Fabiyi said.
Fabiyi had been vocal about seeking justice for Mohbad and had announced plans to lead a protest to the Lagos State Assembly. His absence from the coroner’s court and the planned protest sparked concerns, which he addressed in the video.
“I didn’t collect money from anybody. I am just doing my own for God. I have to run for my life. I just left Nigeria unplanned and as it is now I don’t even know my destination,” Fabiyi stated.
