Wike Places N20m Bounty on Criminals
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesome Wike, has taken a decisive step in combating criminal activities in the FCT by placing a N20 million bounty on criminals.
During his visit to the FCT Police Command in Abuja, following the recent arrest of suspected kidnappers, Minister Wike emphasized that criminality must not be allowed to persist in Abuja.
He underscored the paramount importance of ensuring the safety of FCT residents as a top priority of his administration.
Expressing his determination to bring criminals to justice, Wike stated, “You’ll be thinking that those who are terrorizing are such a huge people.” He expressed confidence in the capabilities of the police force, urging for their thorough training to effectively tackle criminal elements.
Regarding the bounty, Wike declared, “You said it’s remaining about two or three persons, okay, let me put money on their head, whoever they are, send your men out there, I’ll give them N20M. Go and fish them out, wherever they are.
Use that money on their heads. I want to see them dead or alive.”Furthermore, Wike announced plans to bolster law enforcement efforts by providing additional vehicles and communication equipment to the police and other security agencies.
He assured FCT residents that, with the backing of the President, his administration is fully prepared to wage a vigorous campaign against criminal elements.
The move to offer a substantial bounty underscores the government’s commitment to tackling crime head-on and ensuring the safety and security of all residents in the Federal Capital Territory.Source: X | channelstv
