A memorandum submitted by MOBIN, an organization that believes in politics and diplomacy, to restructure Nigeria through devolution of power to regional governments has raised debates in the National Assembly.
According to reports, Southern Senators have expressed support for the proposal and described it as a welcome development that would improve the economy, tackle insecurity, and accelerate infrastructural development., while their Northern counterparts remain opposed.
The Middle Belt (North Central) region has signaled its willingness to align with the South with hopes that votes from the four other regions will certainly override the North with two.
MOBIN’s Chairman also emphasized the importance of strategic alliances and diplomatic efforts to achieve self-determination. The organization is urging Southern Senators to engage with Middle Belt and North East senators for voting power.
