The Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB) has uncovered a shocking 3,000 cases of fake graduates who never attended university. This revelation was made by the Registrar, Prof Ishaq Oloyede, during a meeting with the Committee of Pro-Chancellors of State Universities.
According to Oloyede, these individuals never set foot in a classroom, yet claim to be graduates. This widespread corruption has led to embarrassment for the country. JAMB has been actively working to combat illegal admissions, which have been a long-standing issue in the education sector.
The examination body has warned candidates against accepting admissions from institutions that have not followed proper procedures. All admissions must be processed through JAMB to ensure legitimacy. The House of Representatives Committee on Basic Education has also taken action, ordering JAMB to provide a list of tertiary institutions involved in irregular and illegal admissions.
JAMB’s efforts aim to maintain the integrity of the education system and prevent fraudulent activities. The board’s vigilance has led to the exposure of these fake graduates, and it continues to work towards ensuring that all admissions are legitimate and academic participation is genuine.
