Police Apprehend Armed Robbery Gang in Rivers State
In a significant breakthrough, the Police in Rivers State havep successfully apprehended a notorious group of armed robbers and cultists responsible for terrorizing communities in Khana Local Council, including targeting the residence of a military personnel.
The Command’s spokesperson, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, disclosed that on January 2, operatives of the command conducted a successful operation resulting in the arrest of three armed robbers affiliated with the Dey-well cult group in Khana Local Council.
The apprehended suspects are identified as 24-year-old Thank-God Francis, 26-year-old Bariakpe Itaa, and 24-year-old Golden Felix, all hailing from the Gbam Boue community in Khana council.Acting on intelligence reports regarding the gang’s activities in Gbam-Boue, Kono-Boue, and other neighboring communities, the police swiftly moved to apprehend the culprits.
Following searches of their residences, law enforcement recovered several incriminating items.The seized items include five pieces of military camouflage uniforms, one pair of camouflage shoes, a military cap, a mobile police uniform, a small bag containing electrical tools, one live AK 47 7.6mm ammunition, one live cartridge, one solar panel, and various electrical wires suspected to have been stolen from Gift Nuep, a serving military officer attached to Borno State and a resident of Uegwere Boue Community.
SP Grace Iringe-Koko confirmed that the suspects are currently in custody, and investigations are ongoing. The arrests mark a significant milestone in the efforts of the police to curb criminal activities and enhance the security of communities in Rivers State.Credit : The guardian
