Lagos residents queue to buy ‘Customs rice
‘Residents of Lagos were spotted lining up to purchase bags of rice, purportedly being sold for N10,000 each by the Nigerian Customs Service.
The scene was captured in a video shared on the Nigeria Info FM’s handle on Friday, February 23.
In the video caption, Nigeria Info FM highlighted the sight of Lagosians queuing up to acquire rice seized by the Nigerian Customs Service. The caption further stated that a 25kg bag of rice was being offered at a discounted price of #10,000.
According to the Customs Service, they obtained approval from the government to distribute the seized food items to needy Nigerians at reduced prices.
