The 30 year old village head identified as Malam Kabiru Mohammed of Dandamisa Ward, Makarfi Local Government Area of Kaduna State was killed buy gunmen after an attack in the community.
Malam Kabiru Mohammed who was turbaned as the village head of Marke in 2018 and his brother Tukur Mohammed, hid in the ceiling of the house, after the arrival of Gunmen in the compound around 12.30am, on Thursday.
The gunmen were said to have chased everyone out of the compound after which they reportedly began their search for the victim.
According to a member of the community who pleaded anonymity, the victim was later discovered by the gunmen who slaughtered him and set the house ablaze.
The councilor of Dandamisa Ward, Aminu Sani Marke, said the body of the late village head could not be recovered as the house was burnt down.
“The gunmen spent about one hour operating in the village and went away with valuables worth millions of naira.” he said
However, the Police Public Relations Officer, Kaduna State Police Command could not be reached via calls nor messages.
