Netherlands funds nutrition project in four Nigerian States
The Netherlands government is providing €60 million to combat malnutrition in four states. The initiative, known as ‘CASCADE,’ is a joint effort by CARE International and GAIN, funded by the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Over four and a half years, it aims to enhance nutrition for 1.1 million women and children in Bauchi, Jigawa, Kebbi, and Nasarawa states.
Country Director of CARE International, Hussein Abdul, highlighted the project’s relevance in addressing nutrition challenges, especially for vulnerable populations like pregnant women and children. CASCADE’s state selection was based on the severity of the challenges.
