Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has called on Nigerian youths to participate actively in politics, emphasizing its crucial role in deciding their fate and making a positive impact. Speaking at The Transforming Church in Abuja, Otti stressed that every society deserves the leadership it gets.
“If you sit back and say politics is for politicians, the politicians will decide everything for you,” Otti said. He encouraged youths to take an active role in shaping their future, referencing Psalms 62:11, which reminds that power belongs to God.
Otti shared his personal experience, leaving the banking sector in 2014 to join politics and make a difference. As governor, Otti noted that his decisions can affect millions of lives in Abia State. “Holding a political office affords people the opportunity to affect the lives of more people than one can imagine,” he said.
During the church service, lead pastor Sam Oye emphasized maintaining strong faith and not giving up on personal dreams. Pastor Oye also highlighted the importance of kindness, citing Psalm 119:68, and assured the congregation of the church’s ongoing prayers for leaders like Governor Otti.
