Internationally acclaimed South African actress Connie Chiume has passed away at the age of 72. She was best known for her roles in Black Panther and Wakanda Forever. Chiume’s family announced her passing in a public statement, stating that she died on August 6, 2024, at Garden City Hospital.

Connie Chiume gained fame through her many on-screen characters in popular TV shows such as Mohlolohadi, Zone 14, Yizo Yizo, Rhythm City, Housekeepers, Grassroots, and the Marvel movie ‘Black Panther’. She recently starred in the hit series ‘Gomora’ and featured in Beyonce’s film ‘Black Is King’.
